Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21/08/2026

This Chrome extension, Personal Dashboard, is designed to enhance your browsing experience by displaying bookmarks, time, weather, live crypto and stock prices, a themed background photo, and a daily quote. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, what gets sent where, and why.

The extension does not collect any personally identifiable information (name, email, account details, browsing history, etc.), does not use analytics or tracking scripts, and does not sell or share data with third parties for advertising. The sections below cover every case where data does leave your device, so nothing is happening that isn't disclosed here.

Information We Access

Why requests go through our proxy server

Weather and stock price lookups require an API key. Rather than embedding that key in the extension's code (where it would be visible to anyone who inspects the extension), those requests are routed through a small proxy server we operate, which adds the key server-side and discards it after use. The proxy does not log, store, or associate requests with any user identity — it only briefly caches non-personal data (like a rounded location or a stock price) to reduce repeat calls to the upstream APIs.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties beyond the minimum necessary to fetch the information described above (OpenWeatherMap, Finnhub, CoinGecko, Unsplash, and dummyjson.com).

Local Storage

Your settings (name, bookmarks folder, interests, tracked tickers, and display preferences) are stored using Chrome's built-in storage and stay on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as the extension changes. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
